Coffee on Friday Morning - Caitlynn Lawler

It all started with a morning meeting

A smile plastered on your face, bright as day

Sensation turned to rapid heart beating

Your gaze piercing my flesh, to my dismay

I see you now, and I cannot turn back

The music of your voice leading me home

Your safety holds against any attack

But I am outside, wandering, I roam

I knew you once or twice, I’m sure, you see

Perhaps many more, since the dawn of time

I am falling for you, are you with me?

Across oceans and mountains, I would climb

For the sanctuary of your embrace

For that smile, that laughter, that love I chase
